Winter is the most difficult season for any outdoor activity or sport. The weather conditions are rough and cold and with temperature dropping significantly it becomes very difficult to ride a bicycle in the harsh outdoor conditions. As a result most of us are stuck indoors and dreading to have that extra piece of chocolate cake we so want to have.
But its not all dull and gloomy for the passionate riders. There are various things you can do stay fit and plan for the upcoming cycle season.
1. Indoor cycle sessions
When you cant ride outdoors the next best option is to cycle indoors. While you keep your legs spinning put on some cheerful music or watch your favourite Netflix show on your laptop. In this way you can keep your brain active while your legs are working.
2. Plan your next cycle season
Set goals for the new year and start focusing on them so that you can achieve your desired results. Zero in on the first race of the year you want to compete and start planning for it like working on your fitness , researching about the race, watching videos etc. Also its worth it to reflect back on the rides you did last season, take out the positives from them and prepare yourself mentally for the upcoming season.
3. Grab a good deal
If you are planning to buy that new ride you had your eyes on for few months now is the right time do it. As the year ends and we enter into a new year, more and more retailers will be getting their new stocks for 2018 and offer great discounts on clearance sale for the old stock. Gift yourself that new cycle for the new year.
4. Work on your bike
Give your bike the service it badly needed for a while and sort out any mechanical problems so that you can have an efficient and smooth ride when the season begin. You can do it yourself with a little help from the online “how to” videos or take your cycle to a workshop so that its race ready for 2018.
You may not go out cycling now that doesn’t mean you cant learn about your passion. Watch videos of races online, download that documentary about your favourite cyclist you wanted to watch for long, read that autobiography of your favourite cyclist and let yourself be inspired ! All the Best !
