1. LODHI GARDENS
This magnificent place is surrounded by historical monuments and boasts of Delhi’s glorious history. Around 2.2 km of running track, the Lodhi Gardens is an amazing place to run with a challenging uphill and downhill track. The best of the greenery and architecture can also be found here. The uphill and downhill slopes provide a complete workout session.
2. JAHAPANAH CITY FOREST
As the name suggests, Jahapanah City Forest will truly give a jungle experience. Away from the deafening noise of the city, this place is extremely serene and aloof. The track is approximately 6.6 km long with extremely exhausting uphill and downhill variations. Also, the paved track has milestones every 200 meters to keep you on track. The track often gets completely devoid of any human population so its best to avoid it extremely early in the morning or evening and running in a small group is highly recommended.
3. INDIA GATE
India gate is not a designated running spot but due to its open area, smooth roads and lush greenery it’s a consistent favorite among runners. The energetic environment here provides one with great positive vibes.
4. SIRI FORT
With a km long even track surrounded by greenery, Siri fort truly deserves to be on our favorite list. Most runners prefer this place due to its even track to avoid any injuries. Haunted by the glorious past, this place is sure to leave you spellbound.
5. SWARN JAYANTI PARK(JAPANESE PARK)
Maintained by Delhi Development Authority(DDA) the park holds the abundance of greenery. The track here is extremely smooth and devoid of any clutter. It is also a good picnic spot for families, so you can expect this place to be a bit crowded. Also, the park has lakes with colorful boats. So after a long exhaustive run, you can take a boat ride to calm your nerves.
6. SANJAY VAN
Sanjay van is a city forest near Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli. Though this place is famous for being haunted and alienated, this place is a good choice for those running in a group. It is not at all advisable to run here alone. But otherwise its a quiet and peaceful place to get that ‘runner’s high’.
7. RAJ GHAT
A soulful place with a calming environment, Raj Ghat holds a deep place in everyone’s heart and is also a good place to start your day by running. A good morning run at Raj Ghat is an experience that is ineffable.
